Down to the River

Took a quick walk down to the river with Nigel this evening. We're rapidly running out of daylight for after dinner walks. Disturbed the geese who were already settling in for the night...

they rose up noisily, but didn't go far, just down the bank and into the river.

Nigel was mesmerized...

A little wading and a sniff around the rushes...

and time to head for home with the geese already settling in behind us.
