BACK TO BLACKWATER

So happy that the National parks have re-opened. Too late for our beach vacation, but there is my "home away from home," Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge. That's near enough to visit whenever the mood strikes. Went down there this morning with my girl and our cameras.
Had to blow a view cobwebs away in the photo hut...
But the light was beautiful, and that long slow shift of color, that is an Eastern Shore fall has begun.

I've seen a lot of tree fungi, but never a giant mushroom growing on the side of a tree like this.
Stopped at Emily's pumpkin patch on the way home.

Lots of the pumpkins had giant stems.
Fall mornings don't get much better than this. So grateful for this time with my beautiful girl, and so happy that the national parks have re-opened. You really don't know what you have 'til it's gone. When you live in an area of such natural beauty, it doesn't hurt to be reminded of that now and again.
Hope your weekend is full of good things. We're taking Scout and the Nige to "Bark in the Park."
Later gators! XO.
